We got into an accident out of town and the car was totaled. The insurance policy only covers damage done to other cars. The car is still in the shop. Do we sell the parts to the shop? Take it to the junkyard? Any help would be appreciated.

I live on my own and don’t have insurance through my parents so I need to know how long I have to register my car and get it insured. I live in Colorado. I have a permit and just need to find time to take my drive test for my license. And is there anything else I need to get done before my car is legally driveable? Thanks in advance for answers.

Thing is my parents rented a car. But you must be 21. I have a school function thing that is like 3 miles from my house. They are thinking of letting me use the car. I know i will not cause an accident, i am just afraid of someone hitting me and the rental company finding out. Should i just take the car anyways? By the way i am too young to drive the car
are you retarded?
I have a valid license and valid insurance, just not old enough to drive it. Plus i dont drive like an asshole, and do not speed.

I had a crash four weeks ago in my car - not my fault. My car is a write off and the other party’s insurance, whilst not yet fully admitting liability, sent somebody to inspect my car, a week and a half ago. How soon/long should I expect to receive a payment from them?

New car, had a nasty accident and the Insurance company selected a body repair shop, accepted the shop since I don’t want to go to the hastle of selecting one, and Its being repaired. I’m taking the car after the repair now. I’m worried becasue they might not use genuine parts and I might loose my warranty. I have no clue in body repairs and this is my first time going through it.
1) What things should I consider when I’m taking the car from the body shop?
2) Do I still have the right to ask for repairs if the car is not functional after a week or so?
Please let me know if there is anything else I need to take care of.

My car was hidden by another car and 0% of my fault. My car only had outlook need to fix but that still took few thousands to fix it, all paid by other party. That already over 40% of my car total value.
At this situation, will my car become salvage title? Then it is absolute not fair as my car value will drop a lot.
Thanks!

I’ll be visiting CA this summer for 3 months (tourist visa) Having no car is not an option there. Renting for such a period would be expensive (but if there is no choice I’ll do that) so I was wondering if I can buy one. The problem is that I won’t have permanent residency and Social Number. I do have international driving licence and more than 25 years:)

I was thinking of buying car between 1500-2500 usd. And selling it for 500-1000 usd cheaper at the end of the stay.
Regarding legal things I was wondering is it is possible to do same thing as in my country. Buying car, not formally changing the owner (plates+registration), buying necceserry insurance and use it as it is. But I’m really not sure if it can work out.

Of course I’ll send questions to rental comapanies for special prices for such a long rental. This seems to be muuuch easier.

I rarely drive so i don’t want to get car insurance yet, but sometimes I want to drive around with my family. So do I have to buy car insurance if my parents sit next to me in the car?
