I have a friend online that I asked about his car. He does not know much about cars. Anyways, he said it has been in the repair shop for the last 5 months and they have not gotten to it yet. He said the only problems he had was brakes.
I am obviously thinking that the repair shop is ripping him off or doing something else fishy with the car. I do not know if he has kept in touch with them over this time or not. I told him to get the car out of that shop right away, and find another repair shop.
Has anyone else heard of a car repair shop taking months to repair a car for something as simple as brakes?
I do not know why he would wait so long. All he said was: I havent seen my car for over 5 months cause its been in a shop that long and they still have yet to look at it.

I was driving one foggy morning and drove by where cars are parked front end towards the sidewalk. This lady suddenly backs up and hits my car. she couldn’t see me because her rear window was fogged. we traded information. i have her ID , lisence plate number and insurance. i told her about the estimate for the damages and she won’t pay. I want to know how am I suppose to contact the insurance so they would pay me. This is my first accident and i don’t know how to deal with it. What if she says it was my fault? please help

i have few questions related to used cars buying/selling
1. do u prefer buying manual trans(gear,clutch) car?does it have resale value as compared to auto trans?
2. do u prefer buying a honda/toyota 97-99 model with approx 90-100K miles on it or a hyundai 01-03 model with 40-50K miles on it?again which one has good resale value?
3. which used car has good and quick resale - honda,toyota,nissan,hyundai(considering condition remains good n car is 7-9 yrs old with approx 100k miles on it)
