Because this is America, Land of the ignorant.
(For the most part)
The newer model American cars are actually pretty decent.
My mother bought an ‘03 Impala. I’m very impressed with it. Lots of power, very good quality, and excellent gas millage.

The American auto industry is a very large part of our economy. People that buy the imports are traitors to the economy of my country. Do your home work, American company’s have been behind most auto innovations, we have been world leaders in auto technology. Better yet check out who really owns the car company, your thinking of buying from. In today’s global economy, American auto company’s own most foreign company’s.
Buy American, support the country where you earn your living, or leave.

We all want trucks and SUVs.. How could ANY Vehicle producer make a truck that combines good gas milage, the power we desire when stepping on the gas and tow capacity. NO ONE MAKES A BETTER TRUCK THAN THE USA!
Also, we beat the living crap out of our vehicles. We all know we beat up on that Ford Focus or Chevy Malibu that belonged to Avis or Enterprise….lol
American cars are cheaper so we don’t maintenance them as we should. People are more likely to service their Acuras and BMWs because it is a large investment and you get what you pay for.
If you change the oil and perform all scheduled maintenance, your Chevy, Chrystler, or Saturn car will run just as long as any Honda, Toyota or Nissan…
God Bless the USA..

Wow !!! Are you ignorant. No Wonder the American economy is doing poorly.
I bought a Toyota Tacoma. It gets 16 mpg and my brother’s GMC full size pickup with camper shell and all the gear he needs gets 22 mpg.
The windshield in my toyota gets pit marks when I go down Indian Road when it’s windy and blowing sand. My brother’s GMC has no problem with it.
My brother’s GMC is an 8 cylinder and my Toyota has a 4 cylinder and yet he gets WAY better gas mileage.
My brother is trading in his GMC for a NEW GMC that gets even better gas mileage.
Maybe it’s b/c my toyota is made in Kentucky? Maybe not.
But you can rest assured that MY NEXT TRUCK will be a
GMC or a Chevy … the Japanese are toast. They’ve lost it. But I still like my Toyota for stupid little things like visor extenders to block the sun from coming in by the center rearview mirror but my bro’s GMC has a better drink tray and a full size back seat.
I have a 100,000 mile warranty on my Toyota. But it cost extra and it will be interesting to see how much stuff it needs after 60,000 miles. My bro’s GMC has needed nothing except for one warranty update that was free. My Toyota arrived with the headlights not working and the tailgate didn’t work (wouldn’t open).
So what were you saying about the Japanese and the Americans? Me thinks you should look again.
Peace y’all

Strange, my Pontiac is over ten years old and still gets decent gas milage. The only repairs needed were for the alternator and the waterpump.
My neighbor’s 2003 Nissan has been in the shop twice this year.
It’s not the 1970s anymore, don’t you realize that?
