I’m turning 18 in a few months, and when I pass my driving test my parents are allowing me to choose what car I buy, though the budget is 8-9K. I’ve been looking at some luxury cars, but is that too far a stretch for a budget like that? I was looking into the Lexus IS series, but I heard they’re just Toyota Camry ripoffs or whatever. So is there a good car (luxury, if possible) that fits in my budget and looks pretty decent? I’m a car newbie here, so any tips/help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

well, yes a lexus is most likely a stretch for the budget that you have, unless you have some of your own money to put into it. maybe go to and look at the cars that you like that are in your budget. i think toyota’s are great cars, you could maybe find a used one that is in your price range and some of them are quite luxurious.

Lexus IS is my cousin’s GF car , ES for my Dad and granpa, 330 for the visiting nurse that come to see my neighbor weekly, lexus GX470 for the soccer mom neighbor who drops off her kids to school every 8am and the SC430 is my neighbor’s too, she’s in her mid-50’s, petite. That’s all there is to it. Dull moments…
