buy car
idk asked:

I’m looking at a 2002 dodge neon from a dealer and they get their cars from auctions. This car is also selling for 2900 when the blue book value is about 4500.
Is it ok to buy this car?
It looks well and runs well, but should there be anything for me to be worried about?

All used car dealers get at least some, if not all of their cars from the auctions. There is nothing for you to be worried about in that respect.

I would have a private mechanic take a look at that car before you buy it. They will probably cost you $50, You can also ask the dealer for the carfax of the Neon. If the car has a salvage title, I would not buy it.

They get cars from auction, fix ‘em, make good money.Tell you bunch of lies when you ask questions, and say anything just to make you buy it. Figure out yourself. Thats what dealers do. I mean really, you don’t need people to answer this easy stuff, it’s self-explanatory. -SONY-AC

P.S. You judge by yourself if it’s suspicious, I’ve never drove/seen the car, so I wouldn’t now.

One thing to understand about the car business is that for a dealer to have an attractive selection of used vehicles to sell, they must get many if not most of them from an auction! For the general used car buyer, they will be trading in something that is far from front line quality. In fact many trade-ins are wholesaled out and not ever seen for sale on the lot.

Now, if there is one lesson to ALWAYS do, any time you’re buying a used car, is to ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS pay a mechanic to do an inspection on the car. Take a look at the question on here with this title “Help with a dealership in my area who might be screwing me?” This guy is learning the hard way. And, if there is a reason why this car is selling for $1,600 under value the mechanic may be able to find out why! Was it a Katrina hurricane salvage? What?? That mechanic MAY be the best way to answer the question. Be prepared to pay about an hours worth of his shop labor to inspect the car. Make sure he writes his findings down. That leads to the last item. . . .

If you’re buying from a dealer, in some states they will have you sign a “Due Bill” which is an agreement between you and the dealer for work to be done to the car at the dealers expense. Whatever this mechanic finds needing repair with the car, MAKE 100% SURE IT’S ON THE DUE BILL BEFORE YOU SIGN THE SALES CONTRACT or the DUE BILL!! Even if you want another radio put in, it has to be on the Due Bill.

Good Luck To You!

Um, dont get a Dodge Neon, they **** in every way. Style, safety, reliablity. The safety is like no stars out of 5. The cars basically all plastic, one hit, its done for, and maybe you too. You can get an older, but better car than this. If you still are gonna buy the car, get a carfax, or mechanic to check it out. Also, check carsurvey.org, or .com, something like that and see reviews on this car. It’s not like a toy car that you can buy and return later so do some research before buying this bucktet.

they know nothing i mean nothing about theses cars
they buy them by bulk, say someone comes in an buys new one trades theres in.well then they have some kind of deal to buy them one or all.they dont know about car or its owner.
if you want to buy like this BUYER BEWARE
you can get just as good a deal with private owner at least you would be talking to person who drove it owned it
we have friends in auction like this they run state to st picking theses cars up an runing them threw auction lines
quick money
