most cars that tow yard have are there because they are cost wise not worth fixing

Buying a car from a salvage yard is usually more trouble than its worth. Salvage yards are usually good to get parts from though, just not a working car.

if you are looking for cheap cars i have found a website which lists all makes of cars, you can buy cars for very little money if you look hard enough..
as other people have stated cars from scrap yards etc are usualy not worth touching unless you need a spare part from them.

Most cars that come from there are very cheap, usually either have high mileage, or body damage from accidents. In genereal, it is not a great idea to buy a car from here, because it usually has had something bad happen to it in the past. But once in a great while you will be able to find a decent car for a good price at one of these places. So my advice to you is, look other places first, but if you find something there that you really really like, take it to a mechanic and have them do a thorough inspection, and definitely get a CARFAX report!!! Because more than likely if it is at a tow yard, it was in an accident at one point, and may not be worth buying.
