Anne D asked:

If an auto manufacturer issued a recall 3 years ago, and I just found out, am I still able to take advantage of it?

Yes you can take advantage of it. Recalls are for safety so the manufacturer has to honor it no matter how old it is. I just had a recall done on a 1984 300zx turbo. That one is 22 years old

Depends. Generally, if it is safety related, no. Some others, like paint or trim problems for example, do have time limits.

It should still be effect. Check out the manfactor’s website, or give them a call. If you bought the car from a car dealership they would know also. They don’t really expire, they have recalls so it can get fixed. And if its something serious it should be fixed soon, you don’t want to get hurt or hurt anyone else.

A recall does not expire they are only issued in the event of a safety concern. the only way the recall would not be honered for you is if it has been already done to your vehicle.
