Ford offers an excellent training program for their technicians, as do most all vehicle manufacturers. It is the only way to insure that the actual problem causing the failure gets fixed the right way, esp under warranty. Most factory trained techs are spoon fed the information they need to service your vehicle correctly by the factory. Even with that some techs still don’t get it, and many more problems are created than repaired in the long run by these types. I spoke with a GM trainer once that stated he was having success training women to be diagnostic experts in his dealerships, that they learned easier because they had no previous experience actually working on vehicles. Moonlighting at Sears? Check your source, most factory trained techs I know aren’t moonlighting at Sears.
